Speech + Language Services

Supporting your child’s communication can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re not sure where to start. Whether your child is not yet talking, difficult to understand, or struggling with language and learning, the right support can make a meaningful difference.

I provide individualized speech and language therapy for children and teens, with a focus on building confidence, connection, and functional communication skills in everyday life.

  • Evaluations help us better understand your child or teen’s communication strengths and areas of need, and guide the next steps for support.

    Evaluations may include:

    • Parent interview and background information

    • Clinical observation and interaction

    • Standardized and informal assessment tools

    What to expect

    • A supportive, child-friendly experience

    • Time to ask questions and share concerns

    • Clear explanation of results and recommendations

    • Collaboration to create individualized goals

Evaluation results help us determine whether therapy is recommended and what approach will best support your child’s communication.

  • Following the evaluation, therapy sessions are scheduled weekly based on your child’s needs. Sessions are offered in person at my Portland office or via teletherapy and typically last 30–60 minutes.

    What therapy looks like

    • Individualized sessions based on your child’s goals, strengths, and interests

    • Play-based, engaging activities for younger children

    • Conversation, structured tasks, and real-world practice for older children and teens

    • Support for a wide range of communication skills

    Family involvement

    • Caregivers are welcome and encouraged to participate

    • Collaboration to support progress beyond sessions

    • Practical strategies you can use at home and in daily routines

Therapy is designed to feel supportive, engaging, and meaningful—helping your child build confidence and communication skills over time.

  • Consultation services provide guidance and support without ongoing therapy. This can be helpful for families who want clarity around next steps, school support, or coordination across settings.

    Consultation may include

    • School observations and classroom collaboration

    • Parent, teacher, or team meetings

    • Support for IEP or 504 planning

    • Collaboration with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapists, psychologists, educators)

    What to expect

    • Clear recommendations and next steps

    • Support with communication across home and school

    • Guidance tailored to your child’s needs

Consultation helps ensure everyone working with your child is aligned and supporting their communication in a consistent, effective way.
